Two of these appeared to me initially on the back of a playing card, when they suddenly animated and I found myself with them in a geometric room, where they flew around, wings flickering like animated hummingbirds. I spent a few years trying to capture the incredible details and lucidity of that experience as it grew more complex and strange.
